The Empire Strikes Back

The Justice Department has launched a probe into the leaks that divulged the NSA domestic surveillance program and the existence of secret CIA prisons in Eastern Europe. The New York Times and Washington Post are squarely in the cross-hairs. Heh..heh...heh

Mac Ranger has been ahead of the curve on this one.

Michelle Malkin predicts how the MSM will spin this one, differentiating between "good" and "bad" leaks. Good = anything that embarasses GWB and may result in the indictment of administration officials. Bad = anything that may get the NYT or WaPo's proverbial t** caught in a wringer.

Somewhere, the ghost of John Mitchell is smiling.

SCENE 1: Park near International Airport.

PARK RANGER walks up to two men, dressed in robes and head gear reminiscent of islamic male cultural garb. ISLAMIC MALE #1 is holding what appears to be a soviet-made RPG.

PARK RANGER is on guard, eyes alert.

Something doesn't look right about this, he thinks.

He walks over to the men, and speaks up.

PARK RANGER: "Hey, what's that thing you're pointing at the sky?"

ISLAMIC MALE #1: "toy gun?"

Meanwhile I am listening to theme music from 24...can hardly wait for season 5 to begin in a couple weeks.

Here's hoping that the series writers will get a pair, and stop p*ssyfooting around the dangers in the world posed by those supporting, or operating with, the modern-day Gang of Four: Kim, Mahmoud, Osama, and Hu.

(I can wish, can't I?)
