They are self important prigs out of touch with reality. Increasingly the public knows better and this incident is just another nail in their coffin.lgudehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12774491337993415578noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10820485.post-51283307856544957812009-09-09T22:33:51.666-04:002009-09-09T22:33:51.666-04:00First thing I would do is to refuse ANY AP employ...First thing I would do is to refuse ANY AP employee or stringer to embed with US forces until they learn to respect the troops involved (and the wishes of the family). Printing the picture served no purpose except to further the AP's own political agenda. It;s sad that anyone in a front line unit has to watch for the enemy trying to kill him and protect the weasel reporter who will almost always do anything to "get a scoop". I give the Marines a lot of credit. If that happened around me I really think I would have taken the camera away from the photographer and smashed it (and him).CT Guyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18009994376714215945noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10820485.post-86798430668227163352009-09-09T22:27:45.023-04:002009-09-09T22:27:45.023-04:00Wishes for a quick and complete recovery for Cami ...Wishes for a quick and complete recovery for Cami McCormick are in order.

The AP on the other hand cannot die soon enough. I really do believe that the DoD, at a minimum, should not allow AP any further access to any DoD events or in any area where the DoD controls access. It would be correct for the rest of the federal government to adopt the same approach. Of course we know this won't happen so it is up to us as consumers to conspicuously avoid AP reporting whenever possible.

I once had a conversation with a CNN producer that was brought in to speak at the DIAC on Bolling AFB. I asked him why the media ran pictures of dead service members being dragged through the streets of Mogadishu. He gave me an answer that sounded very much like the garbage from AP. I then asked him if his network would have done the same if the American at the end of the rope had been one of his reporters. He hesitated and then said "no". I thanked him for his honesty and asked him to think of American service members as human beings with families too.

I'm not sure if he's still with CNN as I have not watched that network since about 2002, the same year I spoke with him. (We were late getting Fox out here in this part of Maryland) The point is that there are alternative media options like never before and neither we nor the DoD really have to give the AP access as we once did if they cannot be bothered to extend basic human kindness to Lance Corporal Joshua Bernard's family.tfhrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08056518846851745411noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10820485.post-82080851654782221532009-09-09T21:07:48.670-04:002009-09-09T21:07:48.670-04:00In the good old days the people at the AP would ha...In the good old days the people at the AP would have been run out of the country on a rail for publishing a photo giving aid and comfort to the enemy. Mr. Curry, just like his fellow traveler Bill Keller at the NY Times, thinks that his job as a (sic) journalist is to promote a political agenda. They have no decency; I wrote Mr. Curry a letter and asked that question, to which I received no reply. If they want to change the world, they should join the Peace Corps. If they want to be a member of the press, they should stick to the facts and respect the wishes of the grieving. They are subhumes.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14239643686352923029noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10820485.post-86340974470310698822009-09-09T20:00:39.601-04:002009-09-09T20:00:39.601-04:00Kudos Fellow spook,
