The one requirement was that research could not be done in either the New York Times nor any major west coast newspaper. So....I went to a big library and searched through popular papers like "San Francisco Call Bulliten", LA Examiner, and San Diego Union. What I found was at least a hundred major front page articles warning of Japan, their intentions, and the threat they posed to the Pacific U.S. Neither Kimmel nor Short can escape responsibility for the lack of continuing ocean patrols by submarine and ship for an attack that was likely. Like who else besides Japan posed a threat? Australia? India? There were a lot of screw ups prior to Pearl, but Kimmel and Short were disgracefully lacking in curiosity while being very diligent to maintaining liberties and leaves for the men.Howardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17094289894120872270noreply@blogger.com
