I wish we had Condoleeza Rice and Madeleine Albright. They both had years of experience in foreign policy or the diplomatic corps.<br /><br />It still breaks my heart, makes me cry thinking of that nice young man from Boston, who was a Seal, trying to protect our good Ambassador. What kind of horrible people kill an Ambassador? I don't believe that it was the random act of a crowd, and that there was no actionable intelligence indicating the volatile status of the U.S. Consulate. We should not have had diplomatic representation in that country if we weren't committed to keeping them safe and secure, with adequate protection as necessary.<br /><br />Trust takes a long time to gain. It can be destroyed in a moment.
