It tested out so well that the US and Israel changed their end objective for the program to produce a more mobile version, or M-THEL. 'Skyguard' is an even more refined system. <BR/><BR/>Semi-fixed defensive systems are probably more practical in Israel than any other place in the world. <BR/>1. A relatively small number of systems could provide overlapping fields of fire, <BR/>2. They have a very small footprint, and in many cases can be placed on existing and secure military installations, and<BR/>3. They definitely have a proven need.<BR/><BR/>I'm sure there are quite a few 'someones' in Tel Aviv who regret very much their decision to assume risk for the sake of the defense budget when they decided to drag out the M-THEL program.
