The recruiter kindly forgot to tell me that the RK eye corrective surgery I was getting while in discussions with him was disqualifying for flight. I didn't want to go in as enlisted, so I arranged from him to take the OCS entrance exam - which he ensured that the only way I could do it was to be processed at the MEPS first. He also conveniently forgot to tell me that a study book existed for the test, so I bombed it (questions on the test ranged from woodworking to military history). Catch-22: waiting for my physical results at the MEPS to go away, along with the "incriminating" info about my RK surgery on record, in two years, pushed me over age 29 (age limit for warrant officers flying helicopters in the Army). My one regret now, though (I am 40 now) is that the recruiter, in a final attempt to sign me up, said my ASVABs were high enough for me to get into intelligence, but I declined. I read the article on CIFA yesterday and wished I could be a part of it...sigh.Wanderlusthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06552045133035246679noreply@blogger.com
